Description of Frazer Point I (Acadia, Maine, Schoodic Peninsula))

The Sea Floor Is Full Of Jewels, And When The Tide Is Out You Get A Glimpse Of What’s In This Sub-Marine Jewelry Box. I Am Constantly Fascinated At What Low Tide Reveals, Especially In The Morning Light, As In This Piece. Rocks, Pebbles, Seaweed, Cretaceous Creatures In So Many Colors, Intensified By Water And Glistening Light. They Say That Because Of Maine’s Longitudinal Position It Receives The Same Kind Of Light In Summer That Florence Italy Receives In Winter. I Think This Must Be True As I Find The Light In Maine At This Time Of Year So Extraordinarily Crystalline Making Everything Even Humble Seaweed And Rock Seem Precious Beyond Measure. Acrylic On Board, Sealed, Varnished, Signed lower right.
