Art in Unexpected Places

I love to see art in unexpected places! Today I found these boxes of tea at the JobLot store. They are Bromley's tea from the UK. The English Breakfast Tea has Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party (Le dejeuner des Canotiers) on the box and the Chamomile Tea has one of Van Gogh's Sunflower paintings on it.

Not only do these tea boxes delight me as an artist and art lover but as an art educator and advocate of the arts I think it's important that art in any form is presented to the public at every opportunity.

Art should fill our homes, our work places, our public places and our lives in general. For it brings with it the reminder of the human spirit and human experience we all share.

It reminds us of the beauty and thoughtfulness we are capable of despite the sufferings and evils we often see around us. In short art exemplifies hope, beauty and goodness three things we need to be reminded of often if we are to be happy in our daily lives.

What great thoughts and I so agree with you! Love the insights too; I also agree with you there. Renoir is one of my favorites...

Thank you for identifying these paintings! I'm not very knowledgeable about art, but I really appreciated this post. I was working on a page on Bromley Tea, and I found your blog when searching for information on Bromley; I've added this info to our page:
