Poppy Field Landscape Painting commission, Jan Blencowe

Poppy Field Landscape Painting, commissioned project, Jan Blencowe
6x8 in. , oil on panel

There is a very touching story to this commission project. It's an unusual commission. The painting above is a new version of a painting I created a few years ago, called Where Monet Walked which was purchased by a collector. I will be painting 3 more nearly identical versions of this painting for a total of 4.

In an effort to be sensitive to the family's privacy I'll just give you the basics of the story, (it will still touch your heart). A young woman recently contacted me, her husband had recently lost his battle with cancer. He had come across this painting of mine on the internet, and it reminded him of his childhood in Italy, but that painting had already been sold, so unable to purchase it he set it as the background for his computer desktop where he could enjoy it everyday. Now in remembrance his wife has commissioned 4 paintings for family members, including their very young child as beautiful memorials of his love and life. Isn't that beautiful!
