Look at all the fabulous colors in the water! That is one of the things that really drew me to this scene. We are now coming into my favorite time of the year, late summer into autumn. If the weather cooperates expect to see an avalanche of new plein air paintings from me.

I love to listen to music and read poetry that coincides with the season we're in. I'm a very seasonal person, very aware of the season, its qualities and changes, and very much affected by the seasons.

Here is a beautiful song August written by Michael McGlynn , for one of my favorit vocal groups Anuna. Scroll down to #11 , listen and see if you like it!

She'll come at dusky first of day

White over yellow harvest's song

Upon her dewy rainbow way

She shall be beautiful and strong

The lidless eye of noon shall spray

Tan on her ankles in the hay

Shall kiss her brown the whole day long

I'll know her in the windows tall

Above the crickets of the hay

I'll know her when her odd eyes fall

One May-blue, one November-gray

I'll watch her down the red barn wall

Take down her rusty scythe and call

And I will follow her away

I will follow her away
