I've been sick for a couple of weeks and the weather has been foggy and rainy with lots of thunderstorms making painting plein air difficult. I'm anxious to start a new large painting, a 24x30 nocturne, based on a plein air painting from a few years ago. I've been doodling around in my sketchbook trying to re-work the composition which needs to have the pictorial space opened up some more, but I just can't seem to hit on the right configuration.
One of my problems is that I'm still in the midst of de-cluttering and re-organizing my studio and I think that I just cannot get into the zone with that on my mind and I can't bring myself to set up for a large easel painting in the middle of the chaos.
So perhaps it's first things first and I get the studio back in order before I take on another painting. That may be a bit yet though, re-organizing is a task I find difficult and tend to go slowly with.
Stay tuned at the very least I'll have some sketches and maybe a plein air or two if the weather cooperates.
Beautiful and luminous as is all of your work.Jodyhttp://minileapsandbounds.blogspot.com/
Hi Jody,Thanks so much for visiting today! I'm glad your enjoying the muninous quality of the paintings. Glazing and soft edges help create that effect.
