This very calm and simple view is dominated by horizontal bands of color, its minimal and serene in feel. Here on the Connecticut shoreline I'm treated to scenes like this all the time, and that's exactly how I often feel out in the marshes, calm and serene. This is a painting for peaceful contemplation. There is something good to be said about simplicity, it's stability and evenness reassure. I think a long, narrow canvas where this view was extended would make a wonderful painting and will have to go on my "to do" list!
