West Point Trail Wildflowers

West PointTrail Wildflowers, painting by Jan Blencowe

copyright 2009 Jan Blencowe, Connecticut, USA

About This Painting:

This is my painting from the afternoon session of the paint out yesterday at Stony Creek, Branford, CT to benefit Lyme Disease research. This I believe will be on display in a show at the University of New Haven, where cutting edge research is being done.

This was a really lovely view but my goodness did it get hot in the afternoon. My umbella kept the sun off my painting and palette but not me. When I felt like I was getting over heated I decided to hold the umbrella in my left hand while painting so I could get some shade and I'm really glad I did. I just can't take those long painting sessions in the sun anymore! I drank 3 bottles of water when I was done and it took a while before I started to feel better. Nice little painting though!

Beautiful painting Jan, I really love the colors and composition. Be careful with that sun. Maybe you should bring two umbrellas along, one for your easle, and one for you. We can't have you getting heat stroke or anything.
