Lyman's Orchard Encaustic Painting

Lyman's Orchard Encaustic Painting, painting by Jan Blencowe

Copyright 2009 Jan Blencowe, Connecticut USA

About This Painting:
Translucent layers of molten colored bees wax combine to create this natural and earth friendly painting. I'm always amazed at the beautiful colors and textures encaustic (bees wax) paints can produce.

The simple natural ingredients, bees wax, damar resin and pigments with the addition of heat produces a dynamic process and stunning results.

This piece is painted on a top quality birch panel made by SourceTek, and is protected by an acrylic sealer for extra surface durability and glossy shine.

Media: encaustic
Size: 8 in X 6 in (20.3 cm X 15.2 cm)

Style: contemporary impressionism
