The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY March 30th, 2009...

Outside my window... It's grey, but there is a gentleness in the air that betrays spring's presence despite to cold look in the sky.

I am thinking... how off track I've gotten. So many projects started, plans begun, and I've spun back into old, not-so-great habits and patterns. Feeling bad about this and pondering how to turn things around. Healthier eating, better organization, time management, time for prayer & meditation, daily walks, studio time did all those slip away so suddenly? More importantly how can I get them back?

I am thankful for... several new business opportunities that have come up.

From the kitchen... I'm hoping there's enough ham left to make ham croquettes, a definite family favorite.

I am wearing... still in my jammies at the moment, but wearing a hoodie to ward of the morning chill.

I am creating... Actually, I haven't been able to paint for a week, I am that busy! Last night Idid a small square painting of my violas. I have a stack of new canvas and I'm hoping to begin some larger landscapes this week.

I am going... to teach today as usual.

I am reading...

I am hoping... we will find a great piece of property to build our new house on.

I am hearing... nothing but the tick of the clock anf the click of the keyboard.

Around the house...the ususal, plus tossing a lot of stuff I don't want to have to move. I also have an eye on the garden, LOTS to do out there!

One of my favorite things... is Easter, I'm looking forward to the joy and renewal I always feel on that day.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I want to pick a day or two to unplug myself from the computer and phone so I can concentrate on organizing the house and getting my calendar up to date, filled in and everyone's schedule coordinated. I would so much like for April to go smoothly.

Here is picture thought I am sharing... Fra Angelico's Angel, taken on a recent trip to the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, CT
