I love this little gem! It has all the great atmospheric softness and surface texture I've been going for in my larger works but in miniature. In fact this was such a teriffic little piece to paint that I ordered a bunch of 6x6 in. linen canvases yesterday. I think painting, even these small ones, on linen really gives them the presence and quality of a larger painting. I like Centurion LX acrylic primed stretched linen, which is guaranteed to last 500 years! I popped this piece into a 3" wide gold frame and it really looks beautiful. A final coat of varnish and this will have a very classic look. I have a charity art show coming up in the spring and small works usually sell very well so I'm thinking ahead to that.
If you visit here often you know that I love painting with Chroma Interactive Acrylic paint, and that I'll be giving a fun and informative painting demo using Chroma Interactive Acrylics on January 18th, at the Tracy Art Center in Old Saybrook, CT. But I have some new news to share...Chroma contacted me today requesting to use two of my paintings in the promotional literature they distrubute to retailers and customers. Isn't that cool! I feel great about this because these paints are really something that I use and love over and above all other acrylic brands.

Have a happy week-end everyone. We might be snowed in here in Connecticut, and that means stew in the crock pot, bread in the bread machine and lots of time in the studio for painting!
