This is a lovely, soft, evocative piece and may become a series of the four seasons. Now that I've explored using impasto and texture I've gone in the exact opposite direction. This painting is created mainly by laying down layers of paint and "ragging out", using a damp rag to remove some of the paint and allowing layers of more transparent paint to show through. This techinque really creates a glow, which works perfectly for autumn trees lit by the last light of the sun. Even the full moon in the sky is catching some rays. Enjoy!
