Large Tuscan Poppy Painting Almost Finished

Work in Progress
almost finished

After a few more hours of work this is almost done. I've added more poppies to the foreground, left side especially, along with poppy seed pods, stems and more distinguishable grasses and leaves. I've also done quite a bit of glazing in the trees, middle ground, and on the poppies themselves. I need to live with this for a few days and see if there is anything else that needs to be done, beyond a few more layers of glaze that will make the red poppies absolutely glow. It's also possible that I will go in with more texture and layers of broken brush strokes in the grassy areas between the individual poppy flowers to really anchor them rather than have them appear as floating on the surface. I also need to get a good weather day to take this outside and photograph it in natural light. Colors have been a little off in these porgress photos, as I have usually worked late into the evening and had to photograph in the studio. Stay Tuned!
